Accessibility

Lunabeam is built for students with disabilities, and accessibility is a product requirement, not a feature. We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.

Current status (September 2026)

  • In place: keyboard navigation and skip-to-content link, screen-reader landmarks and route announcements, zoom and text resizing, reduced-motion support, ARIA labelling across the interface, automated accessibility checks in our build pipeline.

  • In progress: a full heading-structure audit, accessible names on every icon-only control, live-region announcements for status changes, a formal colour-contrast audit, and form error association.

  • Planned: an independent scoping assessment by an external accessibility firm (commissioned September 2026), followed by an Accessibility Conformance Report.

A Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) is available to institutions on request.

If you encounter an accessibility barrier, email support@lunabeam.app. We respond within five business days and treat barriers that block core functionality as priority defects.
